This mortar and pestle came packaged very well fitted in a thick styrofoam box so no damage at all. It has authentication card with it and when unpacked is a lovely gray/mauve color as I chose "Oceanic". The outside has a beautiful polish to it and the inside is raw for higher abrasion. It's a fairly small size compared to others I've seen at only 3" in diameter, but for me that means less counter space that it takes up. It's perfect for grinding spices like coriander, anise, and garlic as I used to grind these in my Vitamin and was always annoyed with cleanup for such a small task.
Overall, I love the size the look and the feel of it. It's small but mighty! Perfect for spice grinding and totally worth its price!
Beautiful and well made. It's a great size to crush small amounts, like nuts or herbs. It has a nice weight to it. The bottom of the pestle is rough so it can grip and grind easily. The bottom of the morter has what feels to be a foam like pad to protect it from banging on the surface it's sitting on.
